Actor Michael Shannon will play the ‘General Zod’ role in Warner Brother’s movie ‘Superman’. Michael Shannon has been cast as a main villain in ‘Superman’ Man of Steel.
‘Superman’ movie director, Zack Snyder said that ‘General Zod’ is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies but Michael Shannon is playing one of the important chartacter in the movie. Director Zack Snyder said Michael is a powerful actor with both intelligence and the malice for the ‘General Zod’ role; He is the perfect person for that role.
In the ‘Superman’ movie, stars are Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent and Michael Shannon as General Zod. Michael Shannon is best known for winning an Academy award nomination for his supporting role in Sam Mendes ‘Revolutionary Road’. He also appeared in the HBO’s first season of ‘Boardwalk Empire’ as a federal agent role.
‘Superman: Man of Steel’ is planning to start its filming later this year at Vancouver Film Studios from a David S. Goyer off a story from Goyer and Nolan. Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas, Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven are producing this movie and it is going to hit the theaters in December, 2012, which also includes IMAX venues.
