Rio the Animated film rocks the US box office with its collections; The Animated film Rio has beaten off strong performances by Robert Pattinson circus romance and Tyler Perry’s new film to top of the North American box office.
According to the reports from studio estimates, the animated film Rio, featuring the voices of Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway has grabbed the collections of $26.8m (£16.2m) in its second week and stands are the top in the North American box office.
While, the second place goes to Perry film Madea’s Big Happy Family with $25.8m (£15.6m) Madea’s Big Happy Family – in which Perry stars as a grandmother who pulls her clan together in a crisis – narrowly failed to knock Rio, a film about a stolen macaw, off the top spot.
The third place has been grabbed by Water for Elephants, starring Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon with $17.5m (£10.6m). In the film, Pattinson stars as a vet who joins a traveling circus and falls in love with its star performer.
Hop, the animated movie stands at 4th place with $12 million and Scream 4 came in 5th place with $7.1 million.

Additional new releases which came into sight in the US and Canada box office top 10 includes Disney nature documentary African Cats, which stands at number 6th with $6.4m.
Finally, box office revenue has been totaled at $138m (£83.5m) for a second weekend running.
