Lady Gaga ‘Born This Way’ album is on way to achieve the biggest first week sales of 2011 season – so far.
The ‘Judas’ star has released her second studio album ‘Born This Way’ on Monday; apparently trade just under 100,000 copies of the record upon its first day of release.
The Official Charts Company posted on social networking site ‘Twitter’ seeming to confirm the number of sales: “A great week for lady gaga, early indications show ‘Born This Way’ is on course to score the biggest first week sales this 2011 season.
The high trades are surely expected to defeat ‘Adele’s 21,’ which has stayed at the UK album chart top spot for 16 non-consecutive weeks.
It is expected that Lady Gaga will also move significant parts for her record in the United States, which has been raised additional by Amazon, who offered the singer’s new album for just 99 cents.
Lady Gaga ‘Born This Way’ has one of the tracks named after “Americano” premiered in a live show at Guadalajara, Mexico on May 3, 2011 and she played the song on her piano, as she sang it.
“Hair” was out as a promotional single from the album on May 16 and the entire album was released universal on May 23, 2011.
