Melanie Moore has won the season 8 of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, earning the crown of America’s Favourite Dancer on August 11 with 47 percent of total vote.
On Thursday, Melanie Moore was announced as the champion after facing the public vote it was unveiled that Sasha Mallory came in second position.
Meanwhile, 22-year-old Marko Germar, who once made Lady GaGa cry with his routine on Top 8 performance night and 25-year-old Tadd Gadduang took third and fourth position respectively.
In addition to the $250,000 reward, Moore will emerge on a customised bottle of Gatorade and will also come out in a print campaign for the energy drink brand.
Moore was speechless following her triumph, crying while thanking viewers for their votes. She was then joined on stage by her fellow Top 20 contestants for a celebration.
Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin also joined the final panel.
On the final result show, all top 20 dancers from this season returned to stage to perform. The judges, that include Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Robin Antin, Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Lil’ C selected the routines that were performed by the contestants that night.
Later, the top 10 dancers from the season are planned to embark on a 32-city tour on 17th September. The location includes – Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City on 30th September and the Prudential Center in Newark on 4th October.
