Katy Perry matches Michael Jackson‘s record of having five songs from a single ‘Last Friday Night’ album reach the top position on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart No. 1.
Katy Perry has become the first female artist has managed to top the Hot 100 chart number ones this week with her latest fifth single “Last Friday Night from her album “Teenage Dream”, after releasing a remix aspect Missy Elliot last week and at the same time creates history.
The remix accounted for 25 percent of the songs largely digital sales, while the original track remains atop the United States radio songs listings.
In the last 53 years, it was only Katy and the late Michael Jackson are the only two artists to have reached the feat of having five songs from a single album reach to be no. 1 on Billboard Hot chart.
The King of Pop had five chart-toppers from the multi-million-selling album “Bad” go to the top of the charts in 1987 and 1988.
The five singles hits are “California Gurls,” featuring Snoop Dogg, “Teenage Dream, E.T.”, “Firework,” and “Last Friday Night – have reached the landmark from Perry’s second studio album Teenage Dream, which was released nearly a year ago and has sold 1.7 million copies.
The album topped both the US Billboard 200 and the UK album chart list upon its release last August and has more than 2.2 million combined sales in all over the countries.
